After the recent insolvency of the Pratiker AG chain of home improvement stores, the hope is now for survival of profitable sections. A spokesman said that the liquidator and management are now in the process of stabilising the business. The number one task was to secure continued supplies of products. In an interview with Bloomberg Television, the chairman of the British-owned home improvement retail group Kingfisher said the group is on the lookout for more international growth, in particular at locations in Poland. Last week owners of the Praktiker home improvement store chain announced measures to restructure the business, including an offer received from an investor of an 85 million Euro long-term preferential loan.
