The German hardware industry has been growing constantly for the last 5 years: In 2014, the total revenue improved to 90.8 billion €. During the crisis in 2009 it had only been 69.8 billion €. With this improvement, the industry could even top the level before 2009.

Bad Summer Dampens Homebase

 

 

This year’s thouroughly wet British summer has put a significant dampener on business for DIY-chain Homebase: like-for-like sales were down 6.2 percent to £787.3 million and operational profits down 18 percent on the comparable period of 2011.  A spokesman said the main reason for the dip was bad weather.
