INTERNATIONAL HARDWARE FAIR 2018: all segments at a glance

Three months to go before the start of the hardware industry’s most important international trade show – the perfect time to provide you with an overview. Visitors can expect a comprehensive range of products and services. The exhibition halls are almost fully booked; and compared to 2016, the number of exhibitors from all over the world has increased further. All renowned manufacturers are on board – and the product segments cover all the major industry segments.

“Work hard – rock hard” is the motto of the 2018 INTERNATIONAL HARDWARE FAIR ¬- and of course all product segments will be rocking. A sure contributor are the megatrends digitalization and industry 4.0, which pose major challenges for both industry and commerce, but also present enormous opportunities for innovative companies. With the comprehensive dSummit on the first two days of the fair (4th and 5th of May), Koelnmesse offers orientation and information on the topic.

In the context of digitalization, tools with integrated sensors and radio modules for networked production, traditionally representing the core competence of the trade fair, are the focus of the tools segment. Innovations ranging from hand tools to machine tools can be found in Halls 1 to 4 and 10. Around 1,650 exhibitors, including Gedore, Hazet, Stahlwille, Wera and Witte, will be presenting their new products here.

Also meeting in Hall 4 is the Who’s Who from the Industrial Supply segment. Around 450 exhibitors, including major players such as Altrad, Günzburger and Patrol, will be demonstrating what the future holds for pneumatic tools, high-pressure cleaners, welding and soldering equipment, workshop equipment, shop and storage equipment, ladders and scaffolding as well as occupational safety equipment.

The segment for Fasteners, Fixings, and Fittings occupies Hall 5.2 again this year. Innovative new products and current topics will not only be presented at around 350 exhibitors, among them Hermann Schwerter, Schäfer + Peters and Prebena, but also be discussed on the Forum stage.

Solutions from the Home Improvement and DIY segment can be seen in Hall 5.1 at the stands of roundabout 250 exhibitors, including Schellenberg, Allit and Ambro-Sol. The hall’s highlight is the DIY Boulevard: innovations for construction chemistry, interior finishing and furnishings, sanitary equipment, building materials, construction elements, building accessories, outdoor facilities, car accessories, two-wheeler accessories and Smart Home are being showcases all along the way.
