Infotainment at the Eisenwarenmesse

Hardware Lounge, Speakers Corner, BME Einkäufertag, Vortrag RA Sebastian Schröder BME, Passage 4/5

From 9 to 12 March the International Hardware Fair will be open to visitors from around the world, presenting a comprehensive array of tools, industrial supplies, fasteners, fittings and DIY-products. In addition there will be an attractive supporting programme. Here a brief overview:

Speakers Corner
At Speakers Corner exhibitors will be able to profile their company to a wide range of trade fair visitors: what is special about the company, and what new products does it have? The arrangements are intended to promote a dialogue, so visitors can ask questions at any time. The Speakers Corner presentations will be held in the Eisenforum in Passage 4/5, with German-English translations.

BME Buyers’ Day
This event will also be held in Passage 4/5 on 10 March, and will focus on buying optimisation at its best:  the topics covered will include quality, eProcurement, C-product management, energy purchasing and supply management, followed by a get-together. The event is run by the German professional purchasing association, the Bundesverband Materialwirtschaft, Einkauf und Logistik e.V. Pre-registration is not required.

Buying Day
Buying Day is the omnibus title for a matchmaking system jointly operated by the Home Improvement Industry Presidents Council of the USA and the Cologne Fair. The underlying goal is to arrange individual meetings between North American DIY retailers and exporting manufacturers of DIY products.

There is a comprehensive supporting programme with award ceremonies such as the ‘Iron Innovation Award’ (presented by the ZHH), the ‘Iron CSR Award’ (presented by the BHB), awards made by the PVH and the BHB customer prize. Further, publishers Rohn Verlag will make awards for ‘The best products of the year’. These awards will be described in detail in the next blog of this series.
