Screwfix now supplies to 23 European countries

Multi-channel hardware retailer Screwfix has expanded export sales and now supplies customers in 23 European countries. The company says the reasons for the move derived especially from demand from France, Spain and Ireland – orders have even been received from Finland and Latvia.

Screwfix is a subsidiary of retail giant Kingfisher and stocks 16,000 different products. The company reports demand in particular for hand tools and electrical tools. Screwfix makes no charge for delivery of orders valued at over £100 (approx. 117 Euros), most of which arrive in between five to seven days.

Marketing-Director John Mewett: “After receiving so much interest in our website from international visitors, we decided that enabling European delivery would help us grow our market with both new and existing Screwfix customers, many of which are expats now living outside the UK.” Previously, most customers were located in the UK, so the decision to tackle exports was a major step towards growing the customer base and brand awareness.
