“Eisen” Award: The Nominations Line-up

It is now but a few days to the 2012 Cologne International Hardware Fair, which will also have an attractive supporting programme of events, meetings for members of various business interest groups, and award ceremonies. One undoubted highlight this year will be launch of the new Eisen innovation prize, whose jury has just announced the list of finalist exhibitors. The jury made a pre-selection, aided by the Cologne Fair and ZHH Central Association of Hardware Retailers; products under consideration are tools, industrial supplies, fixtures and fittings, hinges and hardware components. The award-winners will be announced at the traditional welcome party to be held on the evening of 4 March in Theater am Tanzbrunnen near the fair.

There were nearly 100 entries to the competition, from which the jury of hardware experts short-listed products submitted by: Arnz Flott GmbH Werkzeugmaschinen, August Rüggeberg GmbH & Co. KG – Pferd-Werkzeuge, Bessey Tool GmbH & Co. KG, Boorwerk B.V., CIMCO-Werkzeugfabrik Carl Jul. Müller GmbH & Co. KG, HAZET Werk Hermann Zerver GmbH & Co. KG, Jokosit GmbH, KERN-DEUDIAM Diamantwerkzeuge & Maschinen GmbH, KNIPEX-Werk C. Gustav Putsch KG, KRESS-elektrik GmbH & Co. KG, Leica Geosystems GmbH, NWS Germany Produktion W. Nöthen e.K., PREBENA Wilfried Bornemann GmbH & Co. KG, Rhodius Schleifwerkzeuge GmbH & Co. KG and the Wera Werk Hermann Werner GmbH & Co. KG.

At the Hardware Fair there will be a special show of the short-listed products, to be held on the Messeboulevard and Passage Hall 4/5. In addition, the Cologne Fair has teamed with the BHB Handelsverband Heimwerken, Bauen und Garten e.V. to select the winner of Eisen Sustainability-Prize. This recognises a business that has combined above-average business success with social responsibility and sound environmental policies. In each case, the final decision is taken by an independent jury of experts.
